The senator representing Ondo North, Ajayi Boroffice, on Thursday denied media reports that he was sponsoring an aspirant for the 2020 governorship election in Ondo State.
Boroffice, who had been elected for third term on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, was said to have shown no interest in contesting for governorship election next year.
He said there was the need to resolve all the crisis rocking the party in the state
He stated this in a statement, signed by the head of his media bureau office, Mr Kayode Fakuyi, on Thursday, in Akure, the state capital.
The senator, in the statement, said though it was too early for politicians to be jostling for the ticket or the party for the 2020 election, he had no preferred candidate for the election.
The statement, “Prof Boroffice believes the intense jostling for the APC governorship ticket in Ondo State is way too early.
“Having had an unimpressive outing in the 2019 general elections, this is the time for all leaders, stakeholders and party members to unite for genuine reconciliation and re-energise the party.”
